FAQs

  • WHERE ARE CLASSES HELD?
Most classes are held in various locations around Discovery Bay, Hong Kong. The exceptions are Happy Valley KipRunning, and KIP Running @ HKIA which meet at T2 at Hong Kong International Airport.
  • HOW BIG ARE THE CLASSES?
Classes are kept to a 1:12 for KIPKIDS to enable the coach to spend time with all members.
  • DO YOU OFFER PERSONAL 1:1 TRAINING?
KIPMOVIN has group classes only. We find the support and encouragement members get from each other provides the motivation and determination to push through barriers and achieve more in your workouts than you would on your own.
  • WHAT IF I'VE NEVER RUN BEFORE AND WANT TO START?
Then KIPMOVIN is the best place to start! Under the guidance of an experienced coach and professional runner, Thomas will modify the program so you start off slow and steady. You will be provided with an online program to follow on days you do not have a class.
  • CAN I SIGN UP IN THE MIDDLE OF A SESSION?
Late admissions will be accepted during the first week of class and the class fee will be prorated. After week one you can register for the next session. ONLY new members will be accepted for late admissions.
  • WHAT IF I'M TRAVELLING, SICK OR INJURED?
KIPMOVIN is a membership program and the flex program is available for individuals whose schedule is unpredictable. The pricing structure accounts for occasional travel, sick days or unforeseen circumstances. No classes can be carried over to the next session. Online training programs and newsletters are all still available if you are not are to make it to class.

  • WHAT IF I JUST WANT TO 'DROP IN' TO CLASS?
KIPMOVIN is a membership program. The goal is to work closely with our clients throughout the year and provide motivation and support. The risk of injury increases significantly for a “drop in” model. KIPMOVIN clients are a community who have a deep sense of camaraderie and this model does not lend itself to the occasional “drop in.” As such, KIPMOVIN does not offer a drop in program but has the alternative FLEX program to meet the needs of individuals with an unpredictable schedule.
  • WHAT IF I HAVEN'T WORKED OUT IN A WHILE OR HAVE LIMITATIONS TO STRENUOUS EXERCISE?
KIPMOVIN classes are designed so that whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned athlete, you can work out alongside each other. Please make sure to discuss any concerns with your coach before you begin, and inform them of any injury or restrictions you may have. Ensure you have approval from your physician before starting any exercise program.
  • DO I HAVE TO BRING ANYTHING?
A water bottle is required for all classes.
KIPMOVIN Core and More requires a Yoga mat and a KIPMOVIN Kit. This consists of a weighted ball, bands and tubing. For your first class, just bring a yoga mat and speak with the coach about ordering a kit.
  • WHAT IF THE CLASS IS FULL?
KIPMOVIN will have a waiting list and assign new members on a first come first served basis.
  • ARE CLASSES STILL ON IN BAD WEATHER?
Heavy rain is no excuse to stay indoors! With everyone’s safety in mind, classes will be cancelled in Black Rainstorm warnings or if a Typhoon 8 signals hoisted. Some classes may be cancelled in Thunderstorm warnings, Red rainstorm or Typhoon 3 signal.
